Trump’s Policies vs Dream Jobs

What actually is H-1B Visa? Well, golden ticket to find your dream job at Silicon Valley, top companies and a better life, a visa that allows US companies and recruiters to hire and let people from other companies to work in U.S., mostly for technology, engineering, design and such other jobs. It is valid for 3 years at most but could be extended for 6 years. Professionals from all around the world show a keen interest in obtaining this visa, mostly including people from India. Basically, this visa serves as vehicle for numerous workers to obtain employment and residential rights in the United States.

During the presidential era of Donald Trump, many changes were brought about in t H-1B visa policy and regulations, making it harder to obtain the visa. Earlier, almost all the people who applied for the visa would obtain it, but after the changes were brought about, it be came harder. People were straightaway told “no” or were constantly asked to send extra/more documents. The companies had to pay much more if they wanted to hire people out of the United States, which automatically led the companies to not hire new or junior workers from abroad. Indian companies which sent Indians to work abroad, like TCS, Infosys had to follow more rules and regulations.

The COVID lockdown added more to the already hard procedure, created by Trump, even harder for the people wanting to apply for jobs in U.S. by temporarily suspending the H-1B visa. The “American First” agenda was endorsed. This created a huge problem for the Indian graduates and IT sectors. People were mostly left under unclear and confusing situations; many Indians also had to leave U.S. or find employment elsewhere. The Indian students studying in U.S. also faced immense problems, as the visa serves as a gateway to obtain work permission after completing their education.

In simple terms, the changed policies created a rift between the United States and India because it created an atmosphere of worry about India’s economic situation. Even the most scholar students started to become nervous; if they would be able to land themselves at a good job or even get to stay and work. The Indian workers, business enterprises and their families all suffered tremendously. The restrictions caused Indian IT companies to encounter higher operational costs together with management obstacles. The Trump-era immigration policies imposed by the Biden administration would continue to impact Indian professionals by altering their immigration approaches alongside those of companies.
